This series of workshops is designed to help you SPEAK to grow your business.
It includes 4 Live Webinar Workshops (attend from your computer) and 1 half-day Intensive that happens live and in person in Pittsburgh, PA at the beautiful Mellor House Bed and Breakfast.
All webinars will be recorded and available for download. Each time you need to create a speech, workshop or professional presentation, you can listen to or view the recordings. These classes will become a part of your success library for years to come.

Webinar 1: Complete Your Signature Speech, Friday, June 20th from 10:00am to 11:30am ET.
We’ll discuss the topics of your signature speech, identify your target audience and cover all the necessities that you’ll want to have prepared before giving your first presentation. You’ll learn how to create a presentation that fits the needs of your audience, ranging from 10 minutes to several hours. We’ll discuss your options of using media/slides/audio/video and including handouts for your presentations. Most importantly, we’ll make sure that your speech not only informs and educates your audience, but also leads you to new clients, new speaking engagements and an overall increase in your business. Additionally, you’ll receive tips and strategies to:
- Title your presentations
- Write your professional bio
- Create a speaker sheet
- Develop your speaker introduction
- Get a professional photo if you don’t already have one
Webinar 2: Create a Marketing System to Attract New Speaking Engagements, Friday, June 27th from 10:00am to 11:30am ET.
First, we’ll talk about the big, big question, “Can I get paid to speak?” Sometimes you speak for a paycheck and sometimes you speak for marketing. We’ll talk about setting your fees and cover all the commonly asked questions about billing, getting paid and how to respond when someone asks, “What’s your fee?”, or “To speak to this audience, you’ll need to pay.”, or, “You need to pay us to speak AND pay us a portion of your sales.”
Once you have your presentation named, and you’ve determined whether or not you’ll be charging to speak, it’s time to market yourself as a speaker. The following marketing avenues will be covered:
- Who to contact
- How to pitch your presentation
- The difference between push and pull marketing
- How to market via direct mail
- Telephone marketing tips
- How to market via email
- How to ask for referrals
- How to complete an online “request for speaker”
- How to host your own events
NO CLASS on Friday, July 4th
Webinar 3: Start Speaking Friday, July 11th from 10:00am to 11:30am ET
In this class, we’ll cover everything you need to do to prepare for your presentations. We’ll talk about what to pack, what to arrange for ahead of time, how to setup the room, what support you’ll need, how to arrange for audio, video and photos for future marketing, how to make sure you stay on time, and how to manage questions from the audience. You’ll learn how to handle criticism, what to do when you’ve made a mistake, and what to do if you encounter an audience member who challenges you. You’ll receive a speaker checklist for packing and we’ll also talk about how to ask for referrals and endorsements after your presentation.
Webinar 4: Leverage Your Speaking Success Friday, July 18th from 10:00am to 11:30am ET.
Customer service and follow up is CRITICAL to your speaking and your business success. Structured follow-up systems allow your business to thrive instead of just surviving. You’ll learn practical tips to integrate customer service systems into your daily routine, so that follow up is effective and efficient. We’ll talk about strategies to leverage your follow up for new potential clients and how to fill your calendar with as many speaking engagements as you you want for the next several months and even a year in advance.
Class 5: Pulling it All Together Half Day In Person Intensive: Friday, July 25th from 10:00am to 1:00pm ET.
The last session will happen mastermind style, in person, where you will be able to interact and network with your fellow classmates. Each participant will share part of their presentation and marketing material in this charming and inspirational setting at the historic Mellor House Bed and Breakfast. We’ll end our time together with a celebration lunch.
You are encouraged to attend and interact on the live webinars as often as you can, but they will be recorded if you cannot be with us live. You’ll be able to download and view these recorded workshops over and over again as you grow your business and climb your own success ladder.
