Meet the instructors:
Beth Caldwell is a popular author, speaker, expert publicist, teacher, motivator and mentor. She the Executive Director of Pittsburgh Professional Women and the founder of Leadership Academy for Women. For more than ten years, she’s helped small businesses, entrepreneurs and non profit organizations create publicity plans and leverage media attention to elevate their presence, become respected experts and leaders and grow their businesses with publicity.
Today Beth writes for Smart Business Magazine and the Pittsburgh Business Times newspaper. She’s the author of five popular books about business and leadership. As a business owner, she realizes the importance of gaining new clients as well as attracting media attention. Her unique and non-traditional approach to publicity is refreshing and innovative.
Michelle Wright is an Emmy award-winning news anchor and reporter for WTAE-TV. She has reported live from the scene of the region’s biggest news stories including: The Flight 93 crash on 9/11, the Quecreek Mine rescue, and the G-20 Summit. Michelle is an adjunct professor at Point Park University, a contributing reporter for WQED, and contributes articles to Gladys Magazine.
Michelle hosts workshops on topics including: Handling Criticism, Empowering Women, and The Value of Communication. She has written workbooks on news reporting and what it takes to get a story on television.
She has interviewed fascinating people such as: Oprah Winfrey, Sidney Crosby, Peter Jennings, Barbara Bush, President Jimmy Carter, Mikhail Gorbachev, and Space Shuttle commander astronaut Michael Fincke.
Michelle serves as the spokesperson, board member or emcee for Race for the Cure, Project Bundle Up, The Emmaus Community, National Alliance for Mental Health (NAMI), the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and Achieva.
An avid beekeeper, Michelle sells honey, honeycomb, and beeswax lotion. She also gives presentations about lessons we can learn from honey bees.
Michelle has been honored with three Regional Emmy Awards, a National Headliners Award, an Edward R. Murrow Award, and honored by the Associated Press and the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasting.
